BY CAR: Coming from the North of the Netherlands on the highway the A2; and coming from the East (from Aachen/Heerlen) on the highway the A79 (which merges with the A2 North of Maastricht).

• When you arrive at the first lights on the Highway (A2), you turn right: direction Centrum/Ring Noord. Then you keep on going straight following this road. It becomes a bridge that takes you over the railroad tracks and the river Maas.
• When you are driving down after the bridge you will arrive at a set of lights, closely after one another. You get into the left lane for the first lights and turn left at the second lights, direction Centrum/Vrijthof.
• Follow this road till you arrive at a roundabout called the Emmaplein (with a church standing next to it). Turn left at this roundabout and go immediately right onto the service road.. This is the Hertogsingel.
• The hotel is after 50 meters on the right hand side, nr. 28. On the hotel facade is a white flag with ‘Hotel iban’ written on it.

• You drive on the highway and even before reaching the first traffic lights you turn right, exit Centrum/Ring Zuid/N278.
• This exit is a strong bend onto a bridge passing over the highway you came from, over the rail road tracks and over the river Maas.
• At the end of this bridge you will arrive at traffic lights. Go straight ahead throug the lights and the next lights and straight at the first roundabout, called the Tongerese plein. Now you are on the hertogsingel.
• Go straight through the traffic lights. After 50 meters you will see the hotel on the left hand side.
• To be able to park in front of the hotel, you go straight past the hotel, to the next roundabout: the Emmaplein (with a church next to it). You go all the way around the roundabout (360 degrees). Now you go back onto the Hertogsingel in the opposite direction. Go immediately right onto the service road, the hotel is after 50 meters on the right hand side, nr. 28. On the hotel facade is a white flag with ‘Hotel iban’ written on it.

• Take any bus stopping at the "Koningin Emmaplein": line 1,2,5,6,7,11, 22,23,24,25.
  On weekdays busses run from 6:05 till 23:59 (between 7:00 en 18:30 every 5 minutes, before and after that time every 20 to 30 minutes)
  On Saturday busses run from 7:05 till 23:59 (every 20/30 minutes).
  On Sunday busses run from 7:05 till 23:59 (every 30 minutes).
• In 3 minutes it will stop at the market, a main bus stop, stay in the bus
• In another 3 minutes it arrives at the K. Emmaplein (a roundabout with a church next to it and a big tree in the middle. Here you get out.
• Stand with your back to the church. The road straight ahead of you is the “Hertogsingel”.
• Walk into this street and find the hotel after 50 meters on the right hand side, number 28 (it has a white flag with “Hotel iban” hanging above the door.
(Travel time: Central Station - Market is about 3 or 4 minutes and Market- Emmaplein about 2 minutes, without stopping time).

• Leave the railway station out of the main entrance of the building and walk straight ahead. The street is called 'Stationsstraat' in and turns into 'Wijkergrachtstraat' after the intersection.
• Keep on going straight over the old pedestrian bridge ('Wijkerbrug').
• Still straight through 'Maastrichterbrugstraat' (pedestrian shopping street), until you walk into a shop called the V&D, take a right into 'Kleine Staat, and an immediate left into 'Grote Staat' (where 2 famous shops V&D and Hema are located) go straight ahead until you reach the 'Vrijthof'.
• Cross straight across the Vrijthof (leave square at left hand side toward the Post Office on the opposite side.
• Pass the Post Office this street is called 'Keizer Karelplein' for 30 meters, then 'Oude Tweebergen Poort' (again only 30 meters) and then 'Brusselse Straat'. Walk to the end (about 500) till you reach the 'Koningin Emmaplein'.
• Take a left onto 'Hertogsingel', the hotel is situated after 50 meters (white flag outside).
NB Central Station to Vrijthof is a 20 to 30 minutes walk! Vrijthof to Hotel takes 5 to 10 minutes.
